Kyle had gone to Corey, her brother, and asked him if he could take her hand in marriage. Corey, of course, had approved. That night he had took her camping. To this very spot where she now stood. She had always loved being outdoors. It was much friendlier to her than people were... So while they laid on a blanket looking up at the stars. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the Diamond ring and held it up into the air above them. "Every time I look up at the stars I see beauty. Every time I am with you I feel complete. So I reached up into the Heavens to give you a piece of us." He said as he held the Diamond ring as it sparkled. "I want to spend eternity with you, I want to make you happy every day for the rest of eternity." He sat up to look at her laying down. She had tears in her eyes. "Will you, Genevieve Theresa Locklie, marry me?" he asked trying not choke. She accepted of course.
They had bought an apartment together and they were doing fine. They weren't having financial problems, and they were content with each other. But then Kyle became sick. And he had to stay home from work for two weeks. Then one day she was sitting in the living room watching t.v. when a News Report flashed across the screen. It was of a Biohazard warning. She looked baffled. "What...?" she was baffled and turned up the volume. "I repeat The CDC has just come out with a warning. Anyone who has received a vaccine For HIV, the Common Flu, or has been bitten by a pet with the Rabies shot needs to immediately report themselves to The CDC at [phone]. (This is not the actual number to the CDC, that can be found at the bottom of their web page at www.cdc.gov/) Before she could have a reaction to what she had heard Kyle was standing in the door to their bedroom.
Jenny stood, knowing he had had the Flu shot. The side effects were still being listed by the reporter on the t.v.. As soon as he made eye contact with her he charged at her, his mouth opened and unleashed a snarl unlike one she had ever heard any animal make. She immediately ran to the adjacent room, locking to door behind herself. She stood at the far wall. They lived on the second story in the Apartments. She could jump out the window, but from then where? This is an apparent epidemic. She couldn't walk anywhere safely. She would have to get to the car keys, that just so happen to be in the same room as him. What was going wrong? She new that look on his face, it was the look of a preadator stalking its prey. The door was being attacked by him. He would kill her, this she was sure of. She had an idea. she moved to the door and unlocked it, the next impact he place on the door, sent him flying into the room. She immediately locked the door and shut it leaving her a little time for him to have to realize the door was locked. She ran to the other side of the apartment and grabbed the keys and her base ball bat.
She ran back out of the room and he had just gotten the door open. The distance was off, there was no way she could make it to the front door in time to open it and get out before he would be on her. So she stepped forward and held the bat ready. "Please, Kyle. You love me. Think about what it is you're doing. You don't want to do thi-" She couldn't finish what she was saying, he charged her, and she lowered the bat. She couldn't kill him. She would rather die, than hurt him. He collided with her and they collapsed to the ground. He looked so different, so dead... He snarled in her face and bit down on her neck. She screamed, this was the most painful thing she had experienced.
No. He would rather her kill him. She knew this. He wouldn't want to live like this, he would want this. But what if there is a cure? She began pushing on him, Fighting to get his dead weight out from over her. Her martial arts came in handy. He was top heavy hanging over her latched to her neck. She bridged up onto her neck lifting his weight with all her might and she tipped slightly to the side. His weight being so high up they easily rolled over, the skin on her neck tearing off in his mouth. She screamed in pain. Before he could attack again she was beating his face with the bat. Hit after hit after hit. Until his face was completely disfigured and blood had splattered the walls.
She was mortified with herself. But not wanting to dwell on it now she removed his engagement ring off of his finger. She continued her mission grabbing the keys to her vehicle and making haste down the flight of stairs. She carried with her her Bag with a few things she would want with her including the bat. She took no time one the stairs using the railings as a slide.
After getting into her Jeep Wrangler she threw it into gear and headed to the one place she could ever truly feel home. She drove as far into the 75 Acre preserve as she could before the Jeep sputtered to a stop and out of fuel. She stepped out of the Jeep and looked around. This wasn't her new home. This WAS her home. She pulled her bag out of the Jeep and began searching for things to build a shelter with.

running through the trees, he stumbled across an abandoned jeep. Deciding it was time to rest, he slowly aproached it, ready to run if "They" were around. seeing the jeep clear, he sighed in relief and leaned against the hood, the memories flooding over him again. Aldrid had to steady himself as his memories brought him back to the beginning of his misery, back to "The Fucking Hell Hole."
It was another school evening, and Aldrid had gotten home a bit late, and already could hear the shouting and screaming of his mother. with a stony look, he opened the door and blinked. his father had a kitchen knife in his hand, holding his mother by the hair, screaming out obscenities to the woman. He then plunged the knife into the woman's neck repeatedly, blood smattering the walls and his clothes, a couple droplets landing on Aldrid's face. The shock had paralyzed him, devoid of any emotion, his eyes locked onto the lifeless eyes of his mother who stared back, accusing him for not being stronger. His father, brandishing the knife in a drunken rage, had slashed Gwen, Aldrid's little sister across the face.
This attack had marked the moment he descended into darkness. fear took over, snapping him out of his paralytic shock and Aldrid retreated back to the porch where he quickly armed himself with a crowbar that was recently being used to rip away old boards from the abandoned houses down the road.
His father aproached him, and suddenly the sickening crunch of broken bone can be heard as the crowbar connects solidly with the side of his head, the man slumped to the floor. Aldrid then brought down the hammer of justice upon this foul man, smashing his head into the floor.
Aldrid had then taken Gwen that night, leaving the "Fucking Hell Hole" and the two bodies inside. through out the years, Aldrid had to care for his sister on the streets, stealing, lying and even killing to survive. However, it wasnt long that Aldrid realized that his sister could not live this way, so he had left her with "Aunt and Uncle" two family friends that used to be the employer of his mother. Aldrid however, couldnt stay, he knew it. His hands were drenched with blood, he didnt belong with Gwen.
One day, Aldrid had decided to return to Gwen or her sixteenth birthday just to find her broken and mutliated corpse hanging from a rope outside the house. Calmly, he removed the necklace that she always wore, a silver chain with a skeleton key, reminiscant of child hood and the magic of locked doors, and what stories they held behind them. Aldrid went off, in complete disregard of his own life to kill the monsters that had done such fowl things to such a pure little girl.
However, stumbling into the monsters den, he realized that he was too afraid to die. Narrowly escaping he resolved to survive no matter the cost.

Aldrid lets out a soft sigh and starts walking, pushing back even more, recent painful memories, there will be time to reflect, but now is not it....

Genevieve turned back constantly checking the Jeep. When she noticed the boy she immediately reacted by slowly crouching, as not grab his attention. She watched as he looked as if he was in thought. as he began walking her thoughts began racing. Was he like the others? Could he be trusted... Would he try to kill her for what she had... There was only one way to find out... It could be very useful to have a partner so the responsibilities would be evened out... So she did what any logical person would do. She charged him. Her foot steps gently placed as to make as little noise as possible. Each stride landing on the balls of her feet. As she closed the distance she dropped her back knowing it would make enough noise to make him look. She raised the bat as she was ten feet away from him preparing her self if she would have to swing. "Please!" she hoped aloud.

startled by the sudden commotion behind him, Adrenaline floods through his system, his first thought was "Them" and it was flight or fight. He turns quickly, with an experienced dexterity, his eyes lock on the stranger who had called out to him. Another survivor? what did she want? seeing the bat in her hand, he braces himself, a readied stance to fight back should it come to it. Aldrid adopts the usual cold and calm features when handling any new situation. Quieting the questions in his head, he carefully examines her, studying every bit of the persons physique from the way she held the bat, to the small things such as the color of her hair. he couldnt help but notice her beautiful body, seeing the woman behind the the threat, but again pushing those simple thoughts to the side. He could not afford to make any mistakes, mistakes got you killed. His eyes dart about for any kind of escape or potential weapons, his eyes note the jeep and a loose branch that lies broken on the ground near the tire. could he possibly make it to the branch before she brought him down? he was confident that due to the difference in size he had a bit of an adavantage... but she is armed.

Before she had even launched herself at him. She knew that logically if he turned and ran, that he was thinking she was one of them. Which in turn would make him not one of them. But... If he turned and charged at her. She was going to break him down with her 32 oz aluminum bat. As she launched herself at him she watched him turn and brace himself. She immediately not wanting to hurt a fellow human dropped the baseball bat. It clattered to the forest floor as she tucked herself into a forward shoulder-roll. Her left leg was tucked under her but, and her right leg was fully extended in front of herself so that it would stop her forward momentum. So as not to injure her leg with the amount of downward force she was exerting on her single leg. She pivoted her weight from the ball of her left foot, to the ball of her right foot. She now slowly stood facing him. Genevieve put her hands out in front of her, her palms facing him. The universal sign for: I mean no harm. She didn't speak a word but her body said it all.
Knowing that she had to drop the bat to avoid slamming into him she was now unarmed. Her weapon was now within his grasp. But he had to be a complete idiot to turn and grab for it. They were too close she could easily land a kick to his head if she wanted to. She also had noticed him glancing towards the Jeep, which was now behind her. He must not know that it was out of gas. She stood there within five feet of him. This was a situation which she had most wanted to avoid. She had a large wound running down the side of her neck. Which she had used her Dego T shirt to wrap it. The blood had already begun to seep through the shirt. This was definitely not a good situation. She was standing very close to a stranger in only her black sports bra and a t-shirt. There were so many things that could go wrong. As far as she knew she could very well be infected... She would eventually become what was lying on the floor of her apartment... No. She would kill herself if she even slightly felt a change... So either way, she was completely okay with dying... But she wouldn't die by the hands of another man. She would put up a fight... Her eyes watched him precisely analyzing his every movement. Those piercing, multicolored eyes.

He braces himself to take the charge, hell, maybe even a couple of hits or so. That bat could do some serious damage if he wasnt careful, but if he was going to disarm her should it come down to a fight, he'd have to take a couple risks. However Aldrid's face looks a bit confused at the sudden change in pace, her dropping the bat within reach, and the way she stood infront of him. She looked ready to do something, what it was he wasnt sure but he didnt want to take any chances. He locked eyes with her but his gaze drifted over to the wound on her neck. Was she bit? will she become one of "Them?" he didnt show it but her gaze was a little unsettling. seeing her hands out infront of him, he relaxes a bit, hoping that maybe something can be resolved with a bit of diplomacy. Slowy, he slid his jacket off his shoulders. He's seen it before with Maria, when someone loses blood they get cold and maybe at least, this woman could survive. No, thats wishful thinking, I'm lucky to be immune, but for what reason I dont know, but he wasnt about to lose another one, she needed his help, he could see it.
Slowly he extends his arm out, holding the coat and taking a couple slow steps towards her, his other arm went out to his side, indicating he's unarmed. When he gets within arms reach of the bat, he slowly crouches down and wraps his hand on the handle, the coat still extended to her. Hopefully she wouldnt see it as him picking up the weapon, but an attempt to help her.
Very carefully, I stand up, gripping the bat loosely, making it awkward to swing, holding the bat under my thumb, extending it towards me rather than the way its meant to be held. Aldrid pleads with himself in his mind that this woman accepts the jacket, she's losing blood and has to keep warm or she'll go into shock. Or at least thats what a book had said some time ago.

As he approaches her immediate reaction is to step back. Seeing him stoop she also assumes that he has picked up the bat. She does something that she never thought she would do to a stranger. She begins speaking, "My fiance bit me. But I think we should work together, I know how to make sure that I wont bite you." and then she found herself crying, all the things that had happened today were finally catching up. She hadn't had her time to grieve and she was hoping it wouldn't come now. She pushed through the tears continue to talk. "I will kill myself before I change. But we should work together until whenever that time is. If you try to kill me I will retaliate. So don't. You are better off being unwounded with me being suicidal. Not me being dead and you completely fucked up." She turned her back to him and moved to the Jeep. This showed him that she genuinely didn't want to hurt him. She left herself at a disadvantage turning her back. "Since I think it is going to take a while for you to gain my trust I want you to use a Knife, if you have one, to cut the seat belts out, pull them as far as they will come out and cut them. While you do that you can hold the bat. I'm going to get some wood. okay?" She said as she turning back towards him.

He holds the bat carefully, in a non-threatening gesture and walks over carefully, he drops it at his feet and does something, like her, that is rare. An act of kindness to a stranger. Aldrid reaches around her and drapes the jacket over her shoulders, he examines her carefully and says in a soft, gentle voice that seems out of place for such a rough looking person- "Unfortunately, I dont have a knife, but I can end it, for you if you begin to turn..." he flinches and looks away, his eyes sparkle with fresh tears but he fights back the emotions. He reaches down slowly and picks up the bat again, looking about, he rolls his shoulders and jerks his neck to the side, a loud crack can be heard, and he rubs the back of his neck. "Damn... what has this world come to?" he mutters out loud, but seems to be talking to himself. "I'm Aldrid, by the way" he gives an awkward smile, that seems reassuring. This boy may be young but he's strong. He's a survivor....

She accepts the jacket and without saying another word, leaves in the search of wood. She picks up the bag she has dropped and puts it back on. She begins bringing back rather large pieces of wood. The strain of moving to wood has caused her wound to re open and begin sticking to her shirt. She pauses for a moment at the site where she has been dropping of the wood, only a few yards from the Jeep. She sits down on a log and begins the painful process of unwrapping the shirt from her neck. The wound had been clotting and was sticking to her shirt. She showed no pain on her face, only mild irritation. She removed the shirt and laid in on a log to dry. She lifted up her bare feet, not having shoes, and began wiping them off making sure there were not cuts that could become infected. She set her bag down next to her shirt. If he really felt it necessary to take the few things she had, she would get over it. She went back in search of more wood, leaving her neck unwrapped. The necklace with her fiance's ring still bouncing on her neck. She still wore her ring, having not taken it off yet.

[Aldrid]

He walks over to the pile of wood that the young woman is collecting, and unties the bandana from his neck. Aldrid waits for her to return with the next bundle before gently stopping her. He takes note of her neck with a slight frown. "Here, use this for your neck, it should help. and I'll get the wood, you just rest for a bit, okay?" he looks at you, not a hint of sympathy in his strange colored eyes, an inner ring that is bright green and the main iris being a dark blue. Instead there is understanding of what is to be your fate. he looks down at your feet and frowns deeper. "do you not have shoes? hold on" he takes his shoes off and removes his socks, handing them to you. "they might not be the cleanest but it should help a little bit to protect your feet"

She refused the bandana, it would only get stuck to her neck just like her shirt. She refused his socks as well. She had calluses on her feet anyways, and she wasn't even entirely sure if he would become infected from the blood that was getting on his jacket. She turned away from him not listening to him telling her to rest. There was no time to rest. It would be getting dark in a few hours and she needed to get things done so that he would be safe. She moved to the Jeep and pulled one of the seat belts out all the way and she began biting the fibers apart with her teeth, She knew they would be needing these for the night. She continued the slow process of biting through each individual fiber. If he wanted to be macho man and collect the wood so be it. She would show her intelligence.

[Aldrid]

Aldrid watched her for a moment with fascination at this woman's stubbornness... if only she hadnt of gotten bitten, He'd of taken her along. People with that kind of drive is rare, even when they know their end. with a soft sigh, he heads off into the woods, collecting logs and branches, and thinks of other things they should need, when he realized that he didnt have any food or water, and chances are neither did she if she didnt even have shoes. Looking around he lets out an annoyed sigh, and heads back to the jeep, dropping the wood he collected.Aldrid finds a particularly long and smooth branch, and snaps the end of it, leaving it with a crude, sharp point. Aldrid had never hunted before, let alone with something so crude as a spear, that probably wont do much. He looks at the woman still gnawing at the seat belts and walks around to the other side of the jeep, and brings the bat down hard on the mirror, knocking it off. he continues to smash the plastic until the glass comes free.
He carefully breaks the glass, trying to keep large pieces. With the bandana he wraps one of the pieces and pockets it. looking around, he tries to locate something like string or twine finding some lost fishing wire from previous passings of hikers. He ties the other piece of the mirror onto the stick, and examines the pitiful spear. It probably is only good for one use, but then again, he'll think of something in the morning.
Aldrid heads for the trees, his footsteps grow quiet, and he slinks off.

She goes over to where her shirt lays and picks it up and a fairly large stick and returns to the Jeep. She loved this Jeep. It was her favorite car and she was definitely hating what she was about to do to it. She climbs up onto the hood of the car and swung hard against the windshield. Nothing happens but she continues until hairline fractures appear. She continues pounding on the windshield until it shatters. She wraps the shirt around her hand to protect herself from the sharp object and pulls out a fairly large piece of windshield. She began using this as her crude knife and had all of the seat belts out in no time at all. She threw those in a heap on the floor. She then started building a lean-to against a branch and it was fairly large. She grabbed underbrush and was stuffing it into the holes in the structure so as to prevent the wind from entering. She laid down pine needles on the floor inside the structure and returned back to the jeep and began cutting out the leather covers on the seats. She was making a pile of the leather covers on the floor next to the jeep. All while she was working she was constantly looking around for anyone or anything that might happen upon her.

out in the woods, Aldrid had once become the silent killer. his crude make shift spear in hand, he had luckily chanced upon a rabbit and stalked it to its hole. He sat outside of the rabbit hole, waiting patiently as the day grew longer. He was debating on giving up when the rabbit had poked its head out, and without a second thought, Aldrid had stabbed the rabbit, being inexperienced, the spear missed the vital but had pinned the rabbit, which kicked violently in terror and pain. Aldrid reached down, lifting the rabbit by the ears , and wrapped his hand around the little critters neck, and gave a sharp twist. Blood seeped between his fingers, staining the fur from where the creatures neck had broken, the bone protruding from the skin. Aldrid wasnt pleased with his kill, but it was food. examining the spear, it was as he feared, a one time use weapon. He was lucky that it was still intact, so none had broken off in the rabbit, but it was weak and fractured from one end to the next. cutting the fishing line, he pocketed and started heading back when he chanced upon some berries.
Taking the bandana, glad that she had not taken it, he picked the berries and placed them on it, wrapping it up and walking back, his spirits lifting a bit. sure he didnt have water, but maybe he might get lucky and she might of brought some along. he walked back into the camp to see the woman with her pile of leather scraps, and placed the kill and the berries on the hood of the car before surveying the place, a strange ill ease taking root. Aldrid was, as he realized, truly worried for this woman, the first time he's felt this way since the death of Maria. at the thought of her he gasped and staggered a bit, a sharp pain in his chest and the tears sprung to his eyes. Unable to hold back the anguish he sunk to the ground, and tucked his knees into his chest, holding himself together.
Could he really keep going? everyone he loved was dead, and now even another one would be dead by the end of the night. If the blood loss didnt claim her, then the weather will, or starvation. racked with silent sobs, he sat there, trying to regain control from his damaged mind. He promised no more tears, and Aldrid was not one who normally broke his promises, but then a gain, to deny his anguish is to deny his humanity.
Maybe, I am a monster, no better then one of "Them." Void of all emotion constantly on the hunt for resources, competing with others like him. but the only difference, was that he was also the prey.
the tears well up in his eyes and he loses himself to the depression, letting himself cry freely. Who would care anyways? the only witness would be a woman who would be dead within a night, and the silent trees. He wished secretly that the woman would come comfort him, feeling like a kid for the first time in his life, but at the same time hoped she didnt. He couldnt rely on people for those kind of things, they'd only trample on your heart even more.

Noticing his collapse she feared the worst and rushed from the vehicle to his side. She wasn't going to let another Human perish. Then she noticed that he was crying and she was utterly confused. Knowing how young he appeared she assumed he was scared and gently knelt before him and pulled him into a hug putting his face on her uninjured side of her neck. "It will all be okay." She said gently rubbing his back with her hands. "I am not afraid of what is to come of me. But I will make sure that you will have everything you need to survive before I go. I have been working hard while you've been gone and I built you a place to sleep. You caught yourself some food too. Once I get the fire started I will teach you how to skin it and cook it. I will make sure you will be okay tonight. I cut the seat belts out of the car so that you could tie me up tonight so that I don't hurt you if I become one of them." she said slowly rocking him trying to sooth him. "Please do not fear anything, I have already accepted my fate." she leaned back and gently kissed him on his forehead and let go of him. She allowed him to gather himself together while she began placing the left over wood into a pile for a fire. She then opened her bag and pulled out a pot and grabbed her beating stick and the glass shard and slid herself under her Jeep.

He accepted the woman's comfort. It was soothing knowing that they were still human, still had a grasp on compassion. Surely this woman was stronger than he was, though he would never admit it. Aldrid let her hug him and say her words, and he couldnt help whisper to her, mostly incoherent, "Th-they're all dead... all of them" He gave an awkward dry cough and swallowed back, slowly regaining control. He nodded at her words of tying her up, and when she left, he started regaining his composure, a bit embarassed by his moment of weakness but accept it. At the promise of fresh food, he focused on it, giving himself something to look forward to. It was always good knowing that there is still a chance to learn something new, still a chance that the future holds hope, if people are willing to pass on their wisdom.
He stopped his crying and wiped his face, calming himself, his eyes seemed to be vibrant, almost illuminated from the tears. Aldrid stood up and stretched a bit with a sigh, hoping the woman didnt look down on him for his little session. Looking at the rabbit, he realized that he may not be human but he isnt one of "Them." Aldrid walked the twilight road, the grey zone, the balanced middle, but once pushed one way, there was no returning.
He walked over to where the woman was and gave a small pathetic smile. "T-thanks... I apreciate your help." He said quietly, just barely loud enough for her to hear.

"Anytime." She said from underneath the Jeep. She was working on puncturing a hole in the bottom of the gas tank. This was dangerous as any spark could make the jeep explode. "Will you go over by the shelter? I don't want you to die if the Jeep explodes." She yelled from under the Jeep. She waited a few minutes for him to have time to get away from the Vehicle before she began stabbing at the tank. After more than a few minutes of stabbing away, she finally broke through. The metal was pointing up blocking any gas from coming out. So she began pulling on the metal with her hands wrapped in her shirt, slowly pulling the metal down. She worked on the hole with the pot underneath the hole just in case any decided to pour out. After molding the hole into a funnel shape she made sure that the pot was directly under the funnel and she slid out from under the jeep her back covered in moist soil. Her sports bra, her jeans and her long black hair having leaves and small sticks stuck all over her. her hands were covered in grease and so was her face. She didn't care. She climbed into the Jeep and stood in the back seat and put one leg on the passenger side and another on the driver side. She began rocking the Jeep back and forth hoping whatever gas was in the Jeep would slosh out and into the pot.
After rocking the Jeep for a few minutes she climbed out of the jeep and pulled the pot out from underneath the Jeep. It was more than half full. There was no need to use all of this... She moved over towards the shelter where the fire pit was and removed her Zippo from her bag. She sat on a log and began thinking of what supplies she had what they needed before she began the fire. Should she get some food for herself, or maybe get more food for him. Most animals are nocturnal, she should probably put up some snares and catch him some more food. What else did she need to do before the sun sets...?

Aldrid walks off a bit of ways from the potential car bomb and watched for a moment as the Jeep rocked. He turned around slowly, watching the woods for any signs of activity, holding the bat ready again. Something didnt feel right, this feeling of peace and ease, it was somehow unsettling. Quieting his fears, he had to think fast, what else would they need before night fall? they could easily start a fire, they had food and shelter. Water would be the next priority, but the sun was setting fast the day growing old. He scanned the trees again with a frown. Think! damn it Aldrid this isnt right, something's missing... but what? that was when it hit him. The animals had stopped their sounds. Something had to be close, or is already here somewhere. He took a careful step back then walked over to the woman, a grim look on his face, his eyes aflamed with determination to survive. the woman, he knew, wouldnt run. she's in no shape to travel and if it came to it, she'd throw away her life for his, she made that apparent with the offer for resources.
Aldrid walked around the side of the jeep and tapped the bat lightly against theside of it to get her attention from the fire wood, his attitude of the instinctual, Flight or Fight. Looking at the woman he simply said, "something is close, listen... the forest is too quiet"

She stood moving toward him and extended her hand. "Give me the bat, and you climb up as high as you can into a tree. Don't come down until I tell you so. It may be some of 'them'" she said scanning the woods for any moving people. "If you have to use some of the seat belts to get you started up the tree until you can reach a branch do so, do it now and quickly."

Aldrid hands her the bat without hesitation. This woman was already doomed anyways, so let her have her last moments as she wished. It would be troublesome should she die so he quickly snatched up the bag and stuffed in the zippo from the ground. looking at her he gives a sad smile in a bit of apology for being so abrupt. He turns and runs strait at a tree, and launches himself up powerfully, grabbing the trunk and shimmying up to the lower branches and masterfully pulls himself up, climbing high out of their reach but able to see the events as they unfold. from his perch in the tree, he sees one "Them" come shambling out of the bush. It was unmistakenly one of "them" from the foul reek that seemed to waft from its eroding, unclean body, its stare is vacant as if forever lost in a mindless daze, unfocused. as it passes under the tree it stops and looks up at me, moaning at the smell of its prey, hopelessly scrambling at the tree, but unable to reach me

She turns towards her first victim and the bat connects to the Infected's head with a terrible crunch. She steps back planting the bat into the ground for leverage and slams the instep of her leg into the side of the Infected's head. Her left hand connects to his face in a left hook and she drops the bat. Using her skills in self defense to fully fuck this Infected's day up. She continues battery the Infected's face with her fists switching up her strikes so as to not fall into a predictable pattern. Her fists become bloodied and she continues landing kicks and punches until the Infected drops the the floor. She grabs the bat and moves towards the tree and swings hard. She grabs it from behind and spins him off in another direction.

Aldrid watches in grim satisfaction as the zombie gets schooled on how not to fuck with the wrong person. seriously, if that person wasnt so... well not human he probably would pity it, but instead he just grins in amusement, thinking that it seems like a bit of wasted energy on such eloquent motions. Sure grace is amazing, but sometimes simplicity is best. shambling through the bush come two more, and Aldrid knows that, despite her skill she wouldnt be able to handle two what with the blood she's already lost. With a sigh he grabs a branch and cracks it, arming himself. He drops out of the tree beside the woman, raising the branch to meet the next zombie as a third shambles behind it moaning as it salivates at the smell of our fresh blood. Aldrid sighs and steps forward, jabbing the first one hard with a branch causing it to stumble back, and brings it in a wide, powerful arch, smashing it strait into the zombies head and it implodes, soft from decay and eroded from the weather. It hits the ground, motionless but I dont take any chances. I bring the branch down on the zombie hard, watching its head explode all over the ground. I turn to face the third zombie but underestimated its state of being, its body a bit more in repair than the others. It opens its mouth in a hiss and grabs my shoulder, its powerful grip digging into my flesh but not doing much damage. it trys to bite me but I force the branch up into its mouth, grappling with the zombie, I trip over the freshly killed one and fall back, landing hard enough to knock the wind out of me and I struggle with the zombie

Genevieve is immediately there kicking the life like corpse off of him and smashing its face with repeated hits with her fist. "Get the fuck back up in that tree, you are only causing more trouble. I can handle things down here on my own!" She yells at him Grabbing another Creature by the head and swiftly ending its life with a snap. She pulls the t shirt off of her neck. Knowing that the fresh smell of blood would make their focus change to her. She spit on one of the zombies lifeless on the ground. she began back pacing trying to get them to chase her. "You remember to not come down until I give you the all clear." Blood was running down her neck.

[Aldrid]

He notes something odd about the zombie. something seems to be protruding from its ribs. I quickly lean down and pull it out to reveal a near perfect ka-bar, and grin flipping it over and catching it with an eerie dexterity. "Not a chance, you'll bleed out before they're all dead, besides, I've fought worse." He spreads his legs, bracing himself and extending the hand with the knife, blade pointed to the outside of his body, a back handed stabbing method. He braces himself as the next set come shambling foreward. "Besides, I promised that I would be the one to end you, not them. and I dont break my promises"

[Genevieve Locklie]

"Damn it, don't be fucking stupid!" she said glaring at him, "Just do what I said! I'm going to lure them into a trap, and you being in reach is getting them distracted. Just get up the fucking tree, or so help me Goddess..." She said throwing her bloody shirt in one of the Zombie's faces trying to give him her scent. She began back stepping again.

[Aldrid]

He walks forward with a strange confidence, and stabs the zombie easily through the neck and kicks it into another one, they both tip over. I lunge forward and bring my foot down on both of their necks, an audible snap can be heard. I gaze about the trees looking for anymore of them, easily ready to take on any more that might still be there

[Genevieve Locklie]

She stops in her tracks, standing there watching him. She had never been so angry before. Why would he knowingly put himself in danger? She moved to him angered and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt with both hands. "Get. The. Fuck. Up. That. TREE!" She practically growled at him. She released him by shoving him backwards towards the tree.

[Aldrid]

shoving him back he staggers and does a full 360 tornado kick to yet another one coming out of the bush. He lands gracefully, and stabs the zombie through the head. "I dont think you understand... I dont exactly have anything left to live for. Everyone I love is dead," he laughs a bit hysterically, you can tell he's slightly unhinged by dealing with the tragedy, his mind trying to reject the psychological trauma as he ducks under the grasp of another zombie and throws it over his shoulder, smashing it hard into the ground and brings the knife down through its eye. He rises to meet his next foe

"I'm not going to die from this. And sacrificing you life isn't going to help. Then you will leave me all alone. To have no one to spend my last hours with.. But I guess you are right, and I should just end my life now right?" She said pulling the jagged piece of glass out from her back pocket and holding it against her neck. "Is that how it is? Is that how you would normally live your life. I think not. You're going nuts." she said blatantly. "Just let me see if this works so you will know what you can do in the future. I am actually trying to help you! You don't know what the future holds. You could find someone and fall in love and start a family." she choked back the tears.

He stops and looks at you a look of conflict on my face, fighting with the turmoil of his will to live and the despairing anguish. A defeated look on his face and he sheathes the knife into his belt, "Then you better not fucking die, got it?" he runs for the tree again and jumps up to the lower branch, propelling himself into the tree further as the next set comes by, he calls down to you. "let me at least lure them here, then dispatch them! try and live the longest you can!" his eyes lock onto yours imploring for your cooperation
