As he did so, his thoughts slowly drifted from Genevieve to his own self and the possible damage done to his body. His leg was torn up, though the bleeding had stopped a while ago. His pant leg was badly torn and ripped, and his arm was broken at some part. He was covered in a vast number of scrapes and bruises, and now he felt over-exerted. When could he sleep...? Was all she said to him. He was injured badly. She knew it would kill him if she didn't get him patched up. There was no waiting until morning. She would have to go back to the ambulance and see if he had gotten medical supplies. Her neck probably wasn't doing any better. They needed a better way of life. She was hell bent on providing it. Before Aldrid had completely destroyed her jeep, she had thought about taking the jeeps panels off and using them to make a hut. But they couldn't risk sleeping on the ground. They needed to be up in a tree. She figured they would have to build a tree house.
Her attention moved back to Aldrid. "I think your arm is broken. So I either have to cut your shirt off to examine you, or we try to pull it off. I have to splint your arm, and it's gonna hurt like hell. I have to set it before it fuses in the wrong place. Because if it sets in the wrong place we have to rebreak it, and I don't know how to do that..." He was barely cognizant. She worried he would run a fever, and she was t sure if she had enough water for that.

If Aldrid was surprised at what she was saying, he didn't show it. With a simple blink to clear his vision again, he slowly nodded and looked past her to where Theo stood about awkwardly. He took his time to slowly rise to his feet, groaning with the effort and let out a sigh once he was on his feet. His entire body seemed to quiver a bit with the effort, and before he could so much as a step, he collapsed to his knees. Pain shot through him, and his vision danced with pinpricks of light. He couldn't help but gasp and clenched his jaw so tightly that the faint creak of the joints could be heard. After a few minutes of simply collecting himself, he forced himself to sit up again and looked at Genevieve. His weakness was so infuriating!
"L-Love, if you don't mind... the ambulance..." He mumbled and gave a vague wave off in the direction of the vehicle. "Take Percy with you please. There a-are supplies in the back. I will have a talk with Theo." He looked back at the boy, hoping he wasn't finding the change of his life scary or otherwise intimidating. "Can you tell him to come here please? I don't think I'm moving any further tonight." He ran his hand through his hair. Damn it all! how could he of been so stupid as to let himself get like this? If anything happened, he doubted he would be able to protect himself, let alone Genevieve or Theo... Never again. He would never get caught being so weak again. Not when his family needed him - relied on him.
He didn't realize the anger and self-recrimination showed in his wary eyes. It was a look of utter cold and bitterness, the kind that normally put people on edge. His jaw was clenched tightly shut and his back stiff. He hadn't realized he was staring off into space - or rather, turned inwardly. He only seemed to realize when the wind gusted up around him, and sent a shiver along his body, teasing him out of his reverie. With the shake of his head, he looked back at his love and gave a reassuring smile, though it did not reach his eyes, "It'll be okay. He's just young and doesn't know any better yet. I'll talk with him though you should probably find some clothes - there are a few bags in the ambulance, we can get the rest tomorrow morning."

"Okay," she said turning to Theo " okay Theo, come over here so Aldrid can talk to you. I'm going to go get some supplies from the ambulance. You have to protect Aldrid, if you see anything I want you to call out for me." She turned and picked up her stick. " I will be right back." She made her way up the path towards the ambulance. Wherever Percy had disappeared to, she knew that he wouldn't let anything happen to her. The campfire light faded away and the cold damp darkness fell around her. She took her time knowing that they would need theirs. She made her way around the ambulance to the back door. She set her walking stick down and pulled on the handle. The doors swung open and the interior lights turned on. She looked at the stuff seeing a pool of blood on the floor. Then she noticed that the body that she had seen earlier was gone. She gasped and turned around to scan the trees. Before she knew what happened she smacked her head on something hard. She felt her knees give out. She collapsed against the floor of the ambulance and then slid into the mud at her feet. She was barely grasping consciousness. She couldn't see or hear. She felt cold but her head and face felt hot. He walked over to Aldrid and a pout was on his face. His hand were cupped over his crotch trying conceal his embarrassment. "I'm sorry Dad. Aldrid let out a soft sigh, and gave the young boy a reassuring smile, "It's okay Theo. Here, come sit with me." He patted the ground beside him, finding the boy's nervousness endearing. If he didn't feel so tired and sore, it would of been amusing - but at the given time, there wasn't much humor to be found anywhere. The young man's gaze idly slipped over the child's shoulder where the naked silhouette of his love disappeared into the darkness. His stomach clenched tightly as she disappeared beyond the light of the fire. He had only been back for more than an hour or so, and the very thought of the two being separated again tore at him. He idly brought his hand up and caught himself nervously turning the ring on his finger, and forced himself back to the matter at hand.

His eyes trained themselves on the boy's face, tracing small shapes in his freckles like one would on a starry night. His head cocked to the side as he tried to decide if he was looking at anything particular, or nothing at all. "However, what is important is how we decide to react. When you feel like this, you have to consider why." Aldrid looked into the young boy's eyes, wondering if he made any sense. Listening to himself, he felt confused and his thoughts muddled. What were they talking about again? He was just so tired...
Clearing his throat, he gave a slight shake of the head. Slowly the train of thought decided to come back to him, "Genevieve is your mother now, though it's only natural you would be confused by everything so far. You don't know any better, but in time you will understand." He wasn't doing a good job with this. How difficult had it been for him to learn of sex? Then again, sex had been foreign to him until not that long ago himself. His lack of experience left Aldrid thinking if maybe he wasn't really all that fit to be called father. What would Genevieve say? What would anyone?

Theo looked at him and thought about what he had said. "So why does it happen? " he asked. He thought again for a moment and then asked "How do I get it to go away?" He thought about what his Dad had said. If it was natural, then why did Mom get so upset by it? He wondered. Dad didn't look all that great and he hoped that Mom would return soon.
